Exploration-led balance sheet
Exploration carrying value was much larger than cash.
Gold Mountain’s FY2021-FY2025 financial history is shaped by repeated impairment charges, new exploration interests and recurring equity funding. Brazil expanded alongside Papua New Guinea, but a larger licence portfolio did not eliminate the need for cash or protect project carrying values from write-downs.

The company added Brazilian exposure while retaining PNG exploration. Its FY2024 narrative describes new niobium/rare-earth interests and the Green River project, alongside a revised Wabag exploration focus.
Large losses in FY2022, FY2023 and FY2025 are substantially influenced by impairment. The appropriate comparison is with both the carrying-value movement and actual cash flows, not a claim that the entire accounting loss was cash spent.
Exploration carrying value was much larger than cash.
A$16.878m impairment dominated the A$18.072m loss.
The initial Brazilian lithium interest was acquired with shares and options; impairment remained material.
Brazil niobium/REE interests and PNG Green River were added while Wabag was reinterpreted.
Exploration assets fell after impairment despite new expenditure; external financing replenished cash.
Operating and investing activities used cash in every year. FY2025 financing exceeded these uses, increasing closing liquidity, but this does not establish a self-funding operation.

FY2025 capitalised expenditure was outweighed by the tenement impairment charge. The bridge shows why exploration assets declined, while the cash-flow table separately shows expenditure and financing.
The original FY2024 net loss is retained because the later cash-reconciliation extraction conflicts with it. The original income statement also shows nil income tax, rather than the lower loss implied by that later comparative.

The FY2025 narrative describes 364 Brazilian licences and anticipated expenditure over the next three years. These commitments and plans are not bank balances or assurances that all targets will proceed.
The auditor identified material going-concern uncertainty linked to additional capital. A subsequent A$3.5m placement was not underwritten and is not added to June cash.
Recoverability depends on successful development, commercial exploitation or sale. The report therefore presents exploration balances as book values rather than estimating metal values or project valuations.
